I just bought a Polaroid SX-70 so to share the joy check out this original vid from Polaroid .
I just got a woody
Wow, this series absolutely rocks. A series of chairs made to mimic the look of fabric but sculpted from solid wood. Check out Veronika Wildgruber’s site here. AMAZING

Alpa
These have to be the coolest cameras that are being made today. In a market full of plastic DSLR’s it’s refreshing to see a company making precision photographic instruments that reek of class. ALPA of Switzerland produce these cameras with film backs and digital backs with more than 60 megapixels and sensors up to 40 x 54 mm! The exceptional lenses are made by manufacturers (Schneider-Kreuznach in Bad Kreuznach and Linos/Rodenstock in Munich). A body and lens will set you back about $12,000 NZ (add extra if you want a digital back!). I guess I better save my pennies, if you have enough pennies buy one of these bad boys and rub it in my face!

Dose of Architecture
“House C” by Japanese architects Hiroshi Nakamura & NAP Co.Ltd is situated in Chiba, just outside of Tokyo. I lived in this area for a while when I was living in Japan. This house is all class, from the roof garden to the great use of floor space at a minuscule 90sqm. I’ll be blogging quite a bit about things from Japan so if you’re interested keep checking back. Enjoy more of their amazing architecture at their website.

24 Hours in 19500 Frames
An amazing video of the 2010 Nürburgring 24 hour race. The BMW Schnitzer team took out first place. This video was shot on the 5D Mark II by Stereoscreen and is a true testament to how versatile that camera really is.

June 10, 2010 - 9:04 am - I think its amazing that it is all shot on a still camera! Did you hear that the final episode in the most recent season of House MD was also shot on the same camera Canon 5D! They said it was better to use that as there are some tight shots that needed a compact camera - awesome (I nearly sound like a canon fanboy :/ )
June 10, 2010 - 10:39 am - Yeah pretty awesome indeed. I heard about House, maybe they were trying to save money too..
Chronogenic
First post!! I thought I’d start off by getting something on here and what better way to start off the blog than my most valued piece of design that I own. A classic Heuer chronograph that was handed down to me from my grandfather. This particular model was really hard to find information on but it seems like it’s a “Carrera 45 Tachy Ref: 3647 T” from around 1969 (ish). This was of course before Heuer became Tag Heuer in 1985. The real reason I love this watch is the story behind it. It was actually a prize won by New Zealander Graeme Lawrence in the 1969 Singapore Grand Prix. He then gave it to my grandfather for helping him work on his winning McLaren-Ford, which then made it to my father and then to me. If that’s not something special then I don’t know what is. Brochure scans from chronomaddox.
